Abortion ban donor

The people still don’t know the name of the person who donated $750,000 to promote a state abortion ban in 2006. Judge Kathleen Caldwell ruled Monday that Roger Hunt doesn’t have to reveal the name of the donor.
This lawsuit has been going on for quite some time now. In fact, the law has been changed so Hunt’s situation can’t happen again.
How much taxpayer money has been spent, I wonder, in the last three years, trying to get Hunt to reveal the donor’s name? Do you think it’s been worth it?
Another hearing is set for June 23. Do you think the state should just give up? Do you think Roger Hunt should just give in? Why or why not?

The State should give it up. Not many people really care anyway. Way too much money has been wasted on this.

I think Roger Hunt should resign, sell his house, and get the heck out of South Dakota. He is an eye sore on the landscape of politics and makes this state look like we are still in the 1950’s.

I believe that Roger Hunt has always had his own agenda and believes he is above the law. The people in his district have spoken numerous times and at the very least he is not representing them. As a lawer and representative he should have never gotten into testing the laws of the State for his own agenda and covering up the name for one person who probably wasn’t even a South Dakotan. The very least it is an embarassment to citizens of Brandon not to far from the citizens of Illinois and ex gov Blacovich

Hunt skirted the law, very shifty thing to do and not very trust worthy. Bottom line, he doesn’t represent all Brandon residents and it would be nice if he found some other concerns to put his energies into because the people have voted on this issue, repeatedly. If he names the donor it would be done, but he would be out of the spotlight too. I question his motives.

I agree completey with #2, #3 and #4, to me it seems like Hunt’s been in there a lifetime, by the way he’s not just serving Brandon!!!!! He’s also serving Valley Springs, Renner, Booge, Benclare, Shinder, Harrisburg, Worthing and Rowena as well!! Good thing we turned down the law to limit the amount of terms people like Hunt can serve for. The law is the law and Hunt is trying to bypass it, because of his personal “values” getting involved with his politics, ALL doner names over a certain $ amount have to be made public even if they are anonymous.

Very well said, everyone!! Another name to be added to that list of people who need to leave the spotlight: Ms. Unruh!
An elected representative should not ever have his own personal agenda
