Absentee voting

Have you voted already? Anybody can vote absentee, and 11,000 Minnehaha County voters already have cast their ballots, according to Sue Roust, county auditor.
Of course there are lots of reasons why someone might vote absentee. Maybe they know they’re going to be out of town on election day. Maybe they are homebound. Maybe their work hours won’t give them enough time to go to the polls.
I always wonder if people who vote way in advance end up regretting their decision if something happens in the last days of the campaign that might change their mind. But a few people I’ve talked to who have voted already say they are confident in their choices.
Have you voted absentee already, or do you plan to? If so, why?

I voted already as I will be on an airplane on election day. That’s the day we leave for our wedding in Florida.

I voted absentee on a whim. I was at the court house to get car tags and saw people votings..so thought what the heck…get it out of the way..I already knew what who and what I was voting for.

I am on vacation this week and had some errands to run in Sioux Falls so I decided to vote early. It only took about 10 minutes for the whole thing. I figure it will save more time than that on Tuesday. Plus, it should shorten the lines for the rest of you!

That’s awful considerate of you, Dave. Thanks.

I had to renew my license at the court house so just grabbed my ballot on the way out! They give you a return envelope so you can just drop it in the mail! (Not prepaid so be sure to put postage on it!) I was able to sit in the comfort of my living room and vote!
