The first quarter ambulance report is on the agenda of tonight’s City Council meeting. Are you interested in knowing what’s in it?
The council meets at 6 p.m. at the city council chambers, 308 S. Main Ave.

Do the citizens of Brandon realize we are paying for quarterly training for a private business?? I bet the other medical professionals in town would like to have their quarterly training paid for by the city! I thought we were paying for Quality Assurance?? Did we pay for quarterly training sessions when we had a different provider? Does the ordinance say we’ll pay for training? Why can’t they get their training like all the other paramedics in the whole state? Monthly/yearly training offered through the state EMS.
The city is paying for a private business, I think all the clinic staff at both clinics should apply for a training subsidy from the city. And the vet too. And any other business owner that is required to do continuing education.
What happened to the max of $2000 the city was going to pay according to the ordinance?
Hopefully Alica can copy/paste this to the blog.

This is alittle off of topic, but with fuel prices the way they are, why does Med-Star take 2-3 rigs on each call? I don’t think that it is called for to have 4-6 medics and then the Brandon Fire Dept respond to each call. Rural Metro handled a call with 2 medics and the assistance of Brandon Fire.
One more thing, MED-STAR PLEASE SLOW DOWN GOING TO CALLS!!! I can not beleive the police allow Med-Star to drive the way they do to calls!
