I’m looking for one or more people to comment for a story I’m writing about water quality in Brandon. If you are willing to provide comment (I must be able to use your name), would you please e-mail me at apthiele@argusleader.com or call me at 582-6898?
How’s the water at your house? Do you think it’s good? Bad? Indifferent?
Noon Friday is the deadline to reach me.
Thanks.

How about we just get a new pool and fill it up with the bad water. My kids want a nice, big pool to swim in. Not the run down one we have now. we are too nice of a city to have such a poor pool.

My water is very good.

My water smells like chlorine, some times worse than others. I know that when the free chlorine doesn’t match the total chlorine it forms chloramines and that’s what causes odor. Is that the problem with our water? It’s out of balance?

Most times the chlorine smell can be contributed to low chlorine. Be sure and run you faucet until it gets colder that at first. Water sitting in the pipes in you home overnight or for long periods with out use will warm and lose chlorine. So freshen it up and the smell should go away. The only other thing may be where you live. If you are on a dead end line, the water may not turn over enough to keep it fresh. Call the water department at 582-2273 and ask them about that. They can also check the water in your house to see what the chlorine level is at your tap.
