Candidates for two city council seats will answer questions from the public during a forum Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the city council chambers, 308 Main Ave. The event is sponsored by the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and the Brandon Valley Challenger.
Ward I candidates John Saarloos and Blaine Jones, and Ward III candidates Steve Rubin and Roger Brooks will answer questions. Saarloos and Rubin are incumbents.
The public is welcome to ask questions. What questions would you like the candidates to answer? Do you plan to go to the forum?
Those who can’t make it can watch it broadcast on the local cable channel 18 at 8 p.m. on Monday or Tuesday.

Let’s hope voter turnout is better than the forum turnout. Take away family members, Chamber members, press and present council, there was about 8 people there.

I went to the forum last night, it was nice to see a fresh attitude like Blaine Jones there. It is nice to know that there are people who really care about this town and not their own special interests. I really think people should watch the telecast on channel 18 on monday night, then the ones in ward I will know who they want representing them.

It was so nice seeing all the candidates. They each had their own way of sayig what they believe. Thank you for not attacking each other. I hope the race continues to run that way.
