city Web site

February 4th, 2008 by Alica

Do you ever visit the city Web site at www.brandonsd.com?

If so, what do you think of it? On it, you can find information about city departments, councilors, administrators and more. The city council agendas and minutes are posted.

What improvements would you like to see on the site?

I visit the City Web site quite a lot. I check the agenda for the meetings, look up ordinances, read minutes….

I visit the site. The agendas for the council and zoning meetings are informative. I use the Brandon map. I’ve used the email addresses to contact city employees and the council. The Brandon plan lets you see lots of interesting things - where they want business to grow, what roads will become the new main roads, where the bike trail will go, the goal to put sidewalks in everywhere, etc.
I would like to see more email addresses along with phone numbers as a means to contact people. I’ll call if I need something right now, but email works well for simple questions. Most people set aside some time every day to go through emails. Phone calls interrupt them.
I would also like more detail on the zoning board agenda. Things like the type of home occupation, the street address of the zoning request as well as the legal description so I know if it impacts me (the plat A of the second whatever is meaningless to me).
Overall I like the site - lots of information. It is in my ‘favorites’.
