Commuting

How long does it take you to get to work? I split my work week between Brandon and Sioux Falls. With gas prices the way they are, I’m grateful for the days I can work within a mile or two from home.
And yet, I can get to work in Sioux Falls in about as much time, or faster, than some of my co-workers who live in Sioux Falls. It’s a pretty straight shot from Brandon. Even getting to the south or west part of Sioux Falls is easy via I-229.
Brandon’s getting so big now that there are hundreds of jobs right here. If you live and work in Brandon how often do you get out of town? There’s practically no reason, unless you need to buy shoes or something.

I get to work in about 20-25 minutes. I have to get around the Citibank traffic which takes awhile.
I used to work from home for 4 years and it was nice not spending so much on gas, but I just had to get out of Brandon anyway several times a week just to get out!

The timing is great. My 23 mile commute takes me just about the same as if I lived on the opposite side of SF. I wouldn’t trade the commute…it gets me mentally prepared for the office, and mentally prepared for coming home. The price of gas….that is the biggest downfall.

I work in Brandon, but we still get to town anywhere from 3 - 4 nights per week for the kids’ activities. We combine our errands in town at that time.
