Fireworks rules

June 30th, 2008 by Alica

Brandon Police Chief Dave Kull says Brandon’s fireworks laws are liberal compared to Sioux Falls, where no fireworks are allowed.

In Brandon, people can light up firecrackers, sparklers, snakes and other ground-level fireworks. Ones that go up in the air are prohibited. Even so, lots of people in town shoot off bottle rockets, roman candles and the like, providing their neighbors with whistles, pops and umbrellas of color.

What kinds of fireworks do you plan to shoot off this year? Or do you just take a walk around the block and enjoy others’ displays? Do you attend the public displays at Huset’s Speedway or Valley Springs?
