Keeping the kids busy

Recreation programs began in Brandon today and the Siouxland Libraries has begun a summer reading program at the Brandon Branch Library.
Do those programs serve the needs of Brandon’s young people through the summer or is more needed.

I believe I have said this before, but household chores are an excellent way to keep kids busy in the summer.
All kids should be required to make their bed each day and keep their rooms clean. Younger children can help fold laundry and set the table. Older children can mow lawns and do yard work.
All children should learn how to cook and clean and take care of their belongings. After all, they need these skills throughout their lives.
I could go on. You get the picture.
Chores = good.
