Make a Difference Day is coming up on Oct. 27. Are you planning any projects for that day? If so, what are they? Do you need help with them?
Many people volunteer all year long. Do you know of any people, groups or organizations that could use some help? Let us know about them. Some groups, like the Banquet or the Children’s Inn. Other groups aren’t as well known. This may be your chance to let others know about them.
Last December, for example, I became aware of a program administered through the Sioux Empire Arts Council called Warm Up Sioux Falls. People donate yarn or hand knitted or crocheted 7-inch by 9-inch blocks to be sewn into afghans. Several dozen afghans have gone to low income people, and the project is gaining support all the time.
That’s just one worthy cause. What causes do you support?
