Native of Brandon

May 12th, 2007 by Alica

I’ve lived here since 1964, the summer before my second-grade year. Right now, three generations of my family live in Brandon. I consider it my hometown.

Did you grow up here? If so, do your parents still live here? Have your grown children settled here?

How long has your family been in Brandon?

I am a native of the Brandon-Valley area. My family homesteaded here 125 years ago this 4th of July. I am so proud of what Brandon has become. My parents are both gone, but my brother lives on our family farm. They would also be proud of the progress that Brandon has made. Our children aren’t grown yet, but I hope that they will think about making Brandon their home.

My father was in the first class to graduate from the new BVHS building in 1968. I gradudated in ‘87 and my husband in ‘86. We currently have two children in BVHS, one in BVMS and two in RBE. My father still live in this area as well as my inlaws. We love it here and have no intentions of ever moving!
