Raking season

Do you rake your leaves, blow them or mulch them? Do you leave them on the lawn until spring?
I remember when I was a kid, my father removed a mature willow tree from our front lawn when we bought our house, just so he wouldn’t have to deal with fallen leaves.
My husband got a mulcher mower and goes over the fallen leaves with that in the fall.
If you gather up your leaves and bag them, how do you dispose of them? Do they end up in the landfill?

Why was 23 Million taken off the blog site? It seems to have been removed and this raking season substituted. The election isn’t until December and this is a good forum to hear pros and cons.

The $23 million post is still on this site. In fact, all posts are still here. They just get moved down as new posts get introduced.
I created a separate category for the upcoming school bond election, so people can find it easily and not have to look through the archived posts. It’s labeled “School election.”
A list of categories can be found by scrolling down the main blog page. The lists of recent posts, categories and archives are on the left side of the page.
I hope this helps. If you have any trouble locating a topic, you can post a blog comment or e-mail me directly at apthiele@argusleader.com.
Thanks for blogging.

I’d like to thank Marv’s for the free leaf pickup they seem to provide every year. This year was a good year for leaves at my house - we had 1/2 a bag versus the usual 10. (I guess throwing them up in the air on a windy day works well.) Actually we are still cutting the grass, so I guess most of the leaves went that way.
