Real silverware

The school district is saving money by using real silverware and plates instead of styrofoam in the schools.
Except at Valley Springs Elementary. There’s no dishwasher there, so they’re still using disposable.
What do you think of this cost savings to the district? How about at Valley Springs? Would a dishwasher pay for itself eventually?

I didn’t realize there was no dishwasher @ VSE. It seems on the surface that one would be necessary. I agree with the district going to real plates & utensils over disposable. Food waste is a big issue, so going with the real plates & utensils is a step in the right direction.

When I was in the BV school district we had real silverware and plates. But that was 10 plus years ago….

I remember at Brandon Elementary, we had those divided trays. I can’t remember what kind of plates or trays we had at the high school, but I remember we had real silverware. But I graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1975, so that was a while back.

To #4: Your attempts to give a hard time to school administration may be backfiring on you.
The taxpayers are the people who would have to pay to replace it. So that means everybody who owns land or who rents from someone who owns land. Me, for example. So when you throw away silverware, I’m one of the people who has to pay for it to be replaced.
As far as I know, I’ve never done anything to you to deserve costing me money. Have I?
