Seeking Haiti connections

The Argus Leader and neighboring community papers are looking for local people who have connections with Haiti. Do you have a friend or relative who lives there or was visiting there? Are they ok? Were you scheduled to visit there? Have you ever been there before?
Do you have connections with a mission group that will help after yesterday’s earthqueake, the largest to hit Haiti in more than 200 years?
If you have any information of local connections, would you please post here or e-mail me at apthiele@argusleader.com?
Thank you.

Quite a few people are angry with Pat Robertson for what he said about Haiti the other day on TV. He said that maybe the earthquake was a blessing because the nation could start over, basically. He said the Haitians had sold their souls to the devil some years back and had experienced poverty and other calamities ever since.
What are your thoughts?

Not only Pat Robertson but Rush Limbaugh as well. Rush Limbaugh is telling people to NOT donate funds to the Haiti earthquake. Well, too late Rush I already did.
“”Limbaugh said on his radio show Wednesday that he wouldn’t trust that money donated to Haiti through the White House Web site would actually go to the relief efforts. He said Americans don’t need to contribute to earthquake relief because they already donate to Haiti through their income taxes.”"
Leave it to this sick bastard to politicize this tragedy.

did you ever think that what he is saying is the money will never reach them due to the fact of not being able to trust the white house? did you ever think they may use this as a profit center for the government. we are always a giving nation and we as americans are always ready to donate money or time to people that are in need. i am all for giving money but i think he may be correct in wondering if the money will be used for them.
