Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will visit the Sunshine Foods store in Brandon Friday, but she’s not the first in her family to visit the city.
President Bill Clinton also campaigned in Brandon during his presidential bid?
What do you remember from that visit? Were you there?

My concern is that we will be unable to get in and out of Brandon around that time on Friday. I am surprised she picked Brandon for a closed door meeting not open to the public!

During Hillary’s visit tomorrow, the first day of the Class AA track meet will be across the street at the high school. In addition, the Dakota Sports Baseball Tournament (66 teams) will start at noon in Aspen Park. There will be lots and lots of extra people in town tomorrow.
Of course, since many of our residents work outside of Brandon, we will be without that resident traffic in the middle of the day.
I remember when President Clinton and his wife visited Brandon in 1996 for Homecoming. A stage was put up on in the green area on the west side of the high school, and all the school buses were positioned to enclose the area (like circling the wagon train). It rained that afternoon.
The Clintons had their picture taken with the football team. My son was on the team that year. He got to shake the president’s hand.

What a joke. How ridiculous is it that it is closed to the public. Why even come then and make it public knowledge. makes no sense to have all this hype and then not be allowed to go. incredible. I am gonna go buy some fruit at 12:45 and just mingle for a while, or will brandon be shut down.

I agree with #6. Doesn’t make much sense to me.
But getting back to Alica’s question. I remember the festivities, as they were practically in the back yard. Was pretty neat to see the Secret Service and all envolved getting everything ready. Pretty cool.

I was a senior that year and I remember Secret Service agents that were at school the whole week. They were dressed in plain clothes, carrying around backpacks, as if they were students and Brandon was so big people would not notice the new students. I also remember the snipers on the water tower…

To bad the regular citizens of Brandon are not good enough to see Clinton. But o’well, who wants to see a women in suit pants that has already lost the election!

I tried to watch the video of Hillary on this website to see what her great insight brought to our community. And of course it didnt work. What gives? Just shows a scar covering commercial over and over.

I’m not sure what kinds of problems you are having. I just tried it and yes, I did have to sit through the scar commercial. But then the Clinton video played.

I remember the ‘96 Clinton visit too! I was a junior that year. It was a pretty big deal because Bill was campaigning for re-election but normally Hilary wasn’t with him-until that night. I didn’t get to be up at the front of the audience with the rest of the juniors because I was in the band. We played Eleanor Rigby for Bill(and Hail to the Chief of course). My husband got to shake both their hands though!! I just remember it was a lot of excitement that day!!

I certainly would love to see a tremendous turnout for Senator Clinton.
Senator Obama is still being vetted. He is very concerning to many in my community.
I would love for the media to cover his connections with his church more thoroughly.
Yesterday, the Reverend Michael Pflagar was viewed in Obama’s church, United Church of Christ.
I was so offended to how this man not only spoke about whites but about President Clinton and Senator Clinton.
17 million or more voters are hurt by this mans comments. This was another pastor friend of Senator Obama.
Why is no one investigating Senator Obama’s background more thoroughly?
Please ask your staff to investigate Obama and his ties with Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Michael Pflaeger. (spelling)
According to fox news: Special Report with Brit Hume, Obama had Rev Pflaeger with him until last week. United Church of Christ and it’s new minister, Reverend Moss introduce this Rev. Pflaeger as a speaker.
His remarks were hateful and racist. If this is another firend of Senator Obama why aren’t we running from him?
I do know that if Senator Clinton was involved with a church that supported the Ku Klux Klan, I would want her explaining herself.
The media needs to confront Senator Obama. This is a matter of character.
